Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Northbound House LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Northbound House,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of RoadRover, including the RoadRover iPhone and iPad app, the web app at web.roadrover.app, this website at roadrover.app, and related services (together, the “Service”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these Terms.

1. The Service

RoadRover is a companion for RV owners. It lets you plan trips and stops, record vehicle maintenance, keep insurance, registration and other documents in a digital glovebox, run checklists, and sync that information across your devices and with others in your household. We may add, change or remove features at any time. Some features are free and some require RoadRover Premium (see section 7).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms. You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. Your account

4. Households and sharing

Your records live in a “household.” The household owner can invite others (a Premium feature) and can remove members. Every member of a household can view, add, edit and delete the household’s records, including vehicles, documents and attachments, and can see the other members’ names and email addresses. You are responsible for deciding who you invite and for what the people you invite do within your household. Premium purchased by the household owner is available to the household’s members while it is active.

If you create a trip share link, anyone with the link can view the read-only trip page described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for sharing links only with people you intend and for the content of trips you share. Deleting a trip disables its link.

5. Your content

“Your Content” means the information, records, photos, files and other material you submit to the Service. You keep all rights you have in Your Content. You grant Northbound House a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display and back up Your Content, and to make the trip pages you choose to share viewable, solely as needed to operate, secure and provide the Service to you and the people you share it with. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, subject to the retention described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content. You promise that you own it or have the rights needed to upload it, and that it does not violate the law or anyone else’s rights. Store documents such as insurance cards and registrations only if you are comfortable doing so and the law permits it. RoadRover is not a legal repository, and you should keep the originals and backups of anything important. You can export your data from the Account screen at any time.

Free accounts have limits on the number of vehicles, checklists and glovebox items, and Premium accounts have a storage allowance for attachments and a maximum file size. We may change these limits and will give reasonable notice of material reductions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

We may investigate violations and remove content, suspend access or terminate accounts as described in section 11.

7. Premium and payments

What Premium includes

RoadRover Premium unlocks the paid features of the Service, such as trip planning and routing, attachments, sharing, and higher limits than the free plan. The features included in Premium and the free plan are described in the app and on our website and may change over time.

Price, trial and renewal

As of the effective date, Premium is an annual subscription that costs $29.99 (U.S. dollars) per year, plus any applicable taxes, and renews every year until it is cancelled. New accounts receive Premium free for 7 days, with no payment method required. When those 7 days end, the account returns to the free plan unless you subscribe; nothing is charged automatically. The free trial is available once per person. Prices may differ by country and currency and may change; we will give notice of any change before it applies to your next renewal. A promo code may add a separate free trial to a subscription; that trial ends in a charge unless you cancel it.

Buying through Apple

If you subscribe in the iPhone app, your purchase is made through Apple’s In-App Purchase, and Apple’s terms apply to billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the free trial). You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings under your name, then Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app or your RoadRover account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and we cannot issue them.

Buying on the web

If you subscribe on the web, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and the household owner is the purchaser. You can update your payment method, view invoices and cancel through Manage billing in the web app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Premium until then. If a renewal payment fails, we may keep Premium active for a short grace period while the payment is retried, after which your account returns to the free plan. Except where required by law or stated otherwise at purchase, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods, but contact us at hello@northboundhouse.com within 14 days of a charge if you believe it was made in error and we will review it in good faith.

One paid source at a time; cross-device access

Premium follows your account. A purchase made on iOS or on the web unlocks Premium on both. You cannot start a web subscription while an Apple or web subscription is active.

Earlier purchasers and promo codes

People who bought the RoadRover iPhone app before it became free keep Premium access, recognized on the account they sign in with and not subject to the subscription price or renewal terms above. Promo codes are limited, may carry a cap and an expiration date, are redeemable once per household, have no cash value, and may be withdrawn if misused.

8. Travel, safety and information accuracy

Never use RoadRover while driving. Plan trips and review routes while parked, and obey all traffic laws and posted signs. The driver is solely responsible for operating the vehicle safely.

RoadRover’s routes, drive times, distances, daily-drive estimates, place and campground details, phone numbers, websites, hours, availability and rates, and maintenance schedules and reminders are provided for planning and convenience. They are estimates, they may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they come in part from third parties. RoadRover is not a substitute for a navigation system designed for your vehicle’s size and weight, for road signage, height, weight and propane restrictions, for weather and road conditions, for reservations confirmed with a campground, or for your manufacturer’s maintenance instructions and qualified technicians. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it. Entries and reminders you create, including expiration dates, depend on you entering correct information and on notifications and devices working, so do not rely on them as your only reminder for legally or safety-critical tasks.

RV travel involves risk. You assume all risks of your travel, equipment and maintenance decisions, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Third-party services

The Service works with and displays content from third parties, including Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store, Maps), Google (sign-in, Firebase, Maps Platform), Stripe, and campgrounds and other businesses whose information appears in search results. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, such as the Apple Maps terms and the Google Maps Platform terms, and we do not control and are not responsible for them. Links to other sites are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement. We do not own, operate or guarantee any campground or business, and any dealings you have with them are between you and them.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, catalog of maintenance types, and the Road Rover and Northbound House names and logos, is owned by Northbound House LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you give us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email hello@northboundhouse.com with the subject “Copyright notice”, identifying the work, the material and where it appears, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove material and terminate repeat infringers’ accounts.

11. Termination and account deletion

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. Owners of a household with other members must first transfer ownership, and anyone with an active web subscription must first cancel it. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription, which you must cancel through Apple.

We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where practical, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, if you create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the remaining period that were paid directly to us, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data. On termination, your right to use the Service stops, and sections that by their nature should survive (including 5, 8, 10, 13 through 16 and 17) will survive.

12. Apple App Store terms

This section applies if you obtained the RoadRover app from the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and Northbound House only, and not with Apple. In addition:

  1. Acknowledgement. Northbound House, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for the app.
  2. Scope of license. The license we give you is limited to a non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the usage rules set forth in the App Store Terms of Service.
  3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. You can contact us at hello@northboundhouse.com.
  4. Warranty. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and as between Apple and us, any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our sole responsibility.
  5. Product claims. As between Apple and us, we are responsible for addressing your or any third party’s claims relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of the claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer contact. The app is provided by Northbound House LLC. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to hello@northboundhouse.com.
  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app, such as your wireless data service agreement.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and these Terms. On your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Disclaimers

14. Limitation of liability

These limits do not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or for gross negligence or willful misconduct in jurisdictions where that cannot be waived. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Northbound House and its members, managers, officers, employees and contractors from and against claims, damages, liabilities, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, your violation of law or the rights of others, or the actions of people you invite to your household or share with. We will give you prompt notice of any claim and reasonable cooperation, and you may not settle a claim that imposes obligations on us without our written consent.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and applicable federal law. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at hello@northboundhouse.com with a written description of the dispute and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.

Courts. If a dispute is not resolved, you and Northbound House agree that it will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, and each of us consents to those courts’ personal jurisdiction and venue. Either of us may bring an eligible claim in small claims court in the place where you live. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arose, to the extent the law allows a shorter period, and otherwise within the legal limit. Each party waives any right to a jury trial to the extent permitted by law. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action, to the extent permitted by law. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place that gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or to rely on local consumer law, nothing in this section limits those rights.

17. General terms

18. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms. If we make a material change to the Terms, we will notify you in the app, by email, or on this page before it takes effect (generally at least 30 days ahead, unless the change is required by law or for security). If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account. Your continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
